Why are Humidity Levels so Important in a Custom Wine Cellar?
Keeping humidity at lower levels inside custom wine cellars makes the cork dry and it will eventually shrink from its normal size. This provides a good venue for air to enter the bottle and trigger the oxidation process which is the culprit in the spoilage of wines. Conversely, higher levels promote mold growth not only in corks, but also on wine labels and the actual wine racks. This is just one of the reasons why custom wine cellar refrigeration is critical to keeping your wine safe and in peak condition. By Wine Cellar Specialists.
